I bought this laptop less than a year ago. It has not been used too much at all. When it first arrived the optical drive would not work, customer service adventually solved this for me; after being told that my warranty was expired! Seems to be a defalut comment before knowing facts!
However, the issue here is that my computer is plugged up but not charging. It works while plugged up. It must be the battery pack, it seems to me. It also seems to me that HP would be more helpful. My HP experience has been substandard at best!
Thank you for your help!
BTW, I do have a third party warranty

Hi,
First try to run HP diagnostics on the battery. Here is the support page to show you how to do this:
https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c04700771
If the battery is no longer good, you can get them for good prize online.
Let me know for further help,
David
