Pavillion 360 x

I ran an update to windows 10 yesterday. This led to the screen freezing on a 'blank' (dark but lit) screen. I had this problem on anther lap top and a hard crash solved it. So I ran a hard rash and system check on the x360 and now it will not start up. The power light is blinking (even when connected to mains) and I cannot get it to 'wake' (I cannot hear the fan and no lights othe than the blinking power) . I have tried turning off and starting again and pressing escape in order to hard crash again, but it will nt do this now. What can I do? At the moment I can do nothing as it appears 'stuck' in sleep/hibernate mode.

Thaks for any help in advance

Hi @Jane63

If the PC is under warranty, it is HP responsibility usually.

Just chat with HP representative or call them and they will tell you what to do. In some countries/regions HP sends a courier to you.

I have a similar issue. I did the windows update yesterday and it froze on a blank (dark, but lit) screen. I did a hard crash as the instructions say and did some sort of diagnostics test over night. Then shut the note book down and restarted, but it won't start! I had a flashing power light and the hardrive light amber and flashing. I have turned off and tried turnig on and pressing escape repeteadly but nothing. I have tried this a number of times. I have also folled the instructions that say to press the windows button and B together when pressing the power on; all this has done is start a 'clicking' noise, the power button now stays on for a couple of seconds and the hard drive light is still flashing amber, but not as frequent as before. I am at my wits end and not a techie, please help!

Thanks

Thanks, but the problem is I can't get it to boot up/start, so I can't access anything on it!

Hi Jane,

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting!

Re. your issues:

From what you describe, it seems like hardware problem now.

Please, review these 3 HP official articles about such issues you experience now. Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue:

Let me know in details what you tried and what happens.

If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

Thanks, IT WinSec, I have tried everything you've listed except anything that means removing the cover (or testing a monitor as it is not just the monitor) as I'm not confident or skilled enough to do this. As you suggest I fear it needs to go into a service centre, so I'll need to find out where to send/take it. It is still under warranty, which is something I suppose, but I hope there is no trouble with HP about repairing it. Thanks again
