HP 285 G2 Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP desktop which is presently under warranty. So if I upgrade the ram to 8gb will it void my warranty.

I haven't removed its cover so the seal is intact.

But while opening the cover of cpu it will damage the seal which is applied on the side.

Will this cause any problem.

Please help!!

Welcome to the HP Support Community  @KG26

Many people Upgrade/Replace Memory, HDD, SSD, WiFi etc and it does not void the Warranty.

But if during the Upgrade/Replace you would break something then you are responsible for any repairs.

Any hardware that is upgraded is NOT covered under the Warranty!!!

Only the Original hardware that came with the Laptop/Desktop would be covered under the Warranty.

I do not remember seeing HP have a seal on their equipment.

Is it a seal from the store where you purchased it from???
