Want to upgrade ram to 12 gb but don't know if it will void my warranty? I talked to the hp parts store and they told me I can have up to 16gb so I'm good there just want to know if I open up my laptop if it will void my warranty. I tried looking for the answer on the warranty information but I couldn't find anything that told me about upgrading my ram.

Hi,

Which manual you are talking about ? My manual says:

IMPORTANT! This document is intended for HP authorized service providers only

That implies void warranty if the work was NOT from HP authorized service providers

Hope this makes sense.

Regards.

Hi,

Your machine is one of the HP Pavilion x360-unnnaa (where nnn=000 to 099 and aa = aa to zz) llaptops. Yes it supports 16GB of RAM and

Support DDR4–2133 Dual Channel
Supports up to 16–GB maximum on–board system memory

DDR4–2133 Dual Channel Support

● 16384 MB (8192 MB × 2 pieces)

● 12288 MB (8192 MB + 4096 MB)

● 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2 pieces)

● 8192 MB (8192 MB × 1)

● 6144 MB (2048 MB + 4096 MB)

● 4096 MB (4096 MB × 1)

On-board means soldered to the motherboard. In this case, will definiterly  void warranty.

Regards.

It says in the service manual that it is removed or installed by uncliping them, Not soldered to the motherboard so I'm confused

It's the one you can download from the product info screen or software download screen, so I guess I can't upgrade it myself thanks for the help
