HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey guys,

So I bought a new HP pavilion laptop and every 10/15 minutes I'd hear one random chirping/beeping/cricket noise. I ran all tests/scans and came back with nothing therefore I returned the laptop and got a complete new one, the new one does it too!

Can anybody shed light on whats going on?!

Liam

Hi

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion Notebook and issues with chirping sound from speaker. Try this document for troubleshooting the sound.

You could also try.

1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
2. Click Playback Devices.
3. Click Speakers.
4. Click properties.
5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality 192000 Hz.
7. Click Apply.
Restart the Notebook to see if that resolved the issue of crackling noises.

Some say you could restore the BIOS to factory defaults help with this. Here is a document that shows you how to restore BIOS factory default settings. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook.

Please let me know how this goes.

I'm sorry but how does this possibly help the screeching/chirping noise?

Yes and it has no relation to the hardware screeching/chirping I'm getting. Thanks anyway though 🙂
