Windows 8 activation key is embedded in the BIOS chip on the motherboard. No need to retrieve it. On installation of Windows 8 64bit using recovery media, it'll get automatically activated. Use recovery discs to factory reset OS.
You could also clean install Windows 8.1 64bit on your laptop that came with Windows 8 64bit using Microsoft windows media creation tool by making bootable installation USB. This will also automatically get activated on installation while connected to internet.
