Hello,
I am trying to replace the original HDD (Seagate Momentus 320GB 7200rpm) with new SSHD (Sagate SSHD 500GB; PN: ST500LM0000). I upgraded BIOS without problems to version F.60 Rev.A (30 Nov 2015). The operating system, which I try to install from the DVD is Windows 10.
Problem is that the installation process of Windows this new drive not see. In the step where you set up new partitions, the disk is not visible.
The installation process of Windows is an option Load Drivers for disc. It might be enough to have a suitable driver. But I do not know which driver to use.
Could you please advise me how to properly install a new drive? BIOS is somehow locked only on the original disc? Or in what may be the problem?
Thank you very much for your time. I'm sorry for my bad English.
Lukas

In BIOS, try to set the SATA Device Mode to AHCI.
This is under Advanced>device configurations

Thanks very much for the advice - it helped! 🙂
It was not so easy - AHCI mode was already in the BIOS setting. It was necessary to do this:
- Switch to ATA mode.
- Restart and let the notebook to attempt a boot (failed).
- Switch to AHCI mode.
- Restart.
- Install Windows 10 64bit.
