Considering replacing the hard drive in my E0M30UAR (ENVY 15) with a solid state drive. However, I'd like to match the drive to the notebook's potential. What speed is the SATA interface in a E0M30UAR (ENVY 15)?

Hi:
Run this little program I zipped up and attached below. Close out of the update available. This is the latest non-beta version I have attached.
Close out of the report screen that shows up, and on the left side of the window click to expand the Drives report.
Then click to expand the sata atapi drives report, and select your hard drive.
That report will give you the current hard drive sata speed and the drive controller speed.
You are interested in the drive controller speed.
For example, my report shows Serial ATA 6GBPS @ 6GBPS meaning I have a sata 3 hard drive running on a sata 3 controller.
If you have a sata 3 drive and a sata 2 controller, it will report Serial ATA 6GBPS @ 3GBPS.

I was hoping it was a sata III on that new of a PC.
Anyway, a SATA III SSD will still run very nice on a SATA II controller.
I have a couple of notebooks and one desktop PC with sata III SSD's on SATA II controllers and the performance is still much better over a mechanical hard drive.
