HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0046tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion Gaming 15, Intel i5,16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 256GB SSD (OS is on this one).
Every time I boot my laptop it shows an error: SMART Hard Disk Error (301)

I think my HDD is actually **bleep**ed since it makes sounds while running and does not let steam (Game Launcher) download anything (error: Corrupt update files)

I have updated my BIOS, troubleshooted my HDD through windows, run tests in BIOS itself, formatted the drive with no concrete results.

My laptop is out of warranty and HP Virtual Assistant refuses to connect me to a executive
I would really like other solutions.

Hi:

If you believe that the hard drive has an issue, I recommend you temporarily disconnect it and see if the 'noise' and the smart disk error goes away.
