From task manager, I can see the model of my SSD, and when searching it on google, the Kioxia website says that it is an M.2 NVMe 2280 Gen 3 SSD. If I replace my SSD, do I have to get a 2280 form factor, or is there a screw hole for a regular 2240 form factor?

The service manual does not show any support for M.2 2242 SSD's.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP ZBook 15u G6 Mobile Workstation
I also did a search on page for the entire manual '2242' and no results were returned.
The removal and replacement procedures do not mention the option of installing a M.2 2242 form factor drive and all of the HP part numbers listed in chapter 3 of the service manual are M.2 2280.
You may want to open up the notebook and see if there is an option to install a M.2 2242 SSD.
You will have far more storage options available with the standard M.2 2280 drives.
