Pavilion 15-n014ss
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello there,

I have a relatively old laptop Pavilion 15-n014ss. Even though I'm totally happy with it, I'm highly interested in updating the panel to a Full HD screen.

I already found a replacement that fits to my computer here:

http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/B156HW03%20V.0/?set_currency=EUR

However, I'm struggling to find a proper cable that supports full HD. So far, I found a possibility with the one designed for other pavilion (15-p253nu) with serial number 762544-001. However, as far as I see on the scheme for that part, it is designed to come up through the right connection of the screen, instead of from the left side, like the n014ss.

Is there the possbility to connect it anyway or is there any other alternative?

Thank you very much in advance.

Kind Regards,

A. H.

You are misunderstanding how this works. There are no other models that use the same motherboard. The motherboard defines the model series. So if a FHD option is not listed in the Manual, the motherboard will not drive an FHD display.

Hi,

Go through Page 3, 27 in the Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04439615

Specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03987265

Your model doesn't list any compatible Full HD display panels.

Since HP has not listed any FHD panels, no spare part number listed anywhere for any of the sub components too.

Hello Visruth,

thanks for your quick answer. As you mentioned, there is no FHD display panel for this specific model, however, there are quite some similar models with same design but with different specifications and also with FHD display.

What I'm looking for is for a similar computer (not the same model) with FHD from which I can order the FHD display cable.

To do this I need to be sure that the internal architecture is the same.

Any further ideas?

Hi,

Sorry to jump in. As @visruth mentioned a bove, the series ONLY has

15.6 in, light-emitting diode (LED), SVA, high-definition (HD), BrightView (1366×768)
display, 3.6-mm; typical brightness: 200 nits
15.6 in, SVA, high-definition (HD), BrightView (1366×768) display, 3.0-mm; typical
brightness: 200 nits SVA + eTP touch + Mutto G1F/GIS OGS (Multitouch)
All display assemblies include 2 wireless local area network (WLAN) antenna cables
16:9 Ultra Wide Aspect Ratio

Given you can find the cable, where to you plug in to ? You need motherboard to support this.

Regards.

Hi banhien,

Thanks for your reply. That's indeed a good detail since I was assuming that giving the fact of the year and performance of the laptop the motherboard would simply support a FHD panel without much problems.

Is there a way to figure this out aside from checking if other computers that use the same motherboard use a FHD panel?

Thanks again!
