Although there is a button on the keyboard that activates the backlighting on the keyboard, it seems like once on the backlight would automatically dim or go out if the light in the room was bright.  However, that functionality seems to have stopped and now its just on or off.

Did I imagine this automatic dimming or is there a setting that may have gotten inadvertently changed?

Thanks in advance

I see from the post that you are having issues with the backlit keyboard light automatically dims. Don't worry, we'll work together to find a solution for you,

Some of the known issues have occurred after a BIOS update as the keyboard backlighting turns off.

I'm not sure if you did a BIOS update, but if you have - pressing F5 will turn it back on.

Link to update the Bios: Click here

If your notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, there is a special key on the keyboard to turn the light on and off. Use the backlight in dim lighting situations.

Please go through this link: Click here

Press and hold the Fn key and the press the dedicated key couple of times which would help to increase and decrease the brightness of the backlit keyboard.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Keep me posted,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
