The pavillion Laptop hinges

The hinge on the left side has flexed and thus cracked the screen and causes erratic display issues.

my mouse cursor jumps uncontrollably from point to point or from window to window.

Apparently, the wiring goes through that hinge (I don't see any other way ) and is damaged. 

these issues started to appear while it was less than a year old, but it seemed to be ov minor consequence, and 

i tried to continue using the laptop, but then cracks appeared on the screen from the bottom left at the hinge and got considerably worse. I even cut my finger when I was inspecting the screen.

What can be done? I would like to continue to use HP machines but this is unacceptable.

2. Select the country.

3. Enter the serial number of your device.

4. Select the country from the drop-down.

5. Click on "Show Options".

6. Fill out the web form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
