ZBook 15 2.4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought the ZBook 15 18 months ago on the strength of its Thunderbolt port. Only just been able to afford Thnderbolt G-Raid 8tb. Cannot connect - drive not recognised in device manager or disk amangement. Updated thunderbolt drivers and BIOS. G-Tech program doesn't even recognise the drive.

Is it G2 or G3? Have you checked the Tbolt security settings in the BIOS? I had to turn off all Tbolt security on my G3 before the Tbolt dock would be recognized.

What does G2 or G3 refer to? I will certainly do what you've suggested though -re: security settings. Thanks for such a quick response.

Different models of Zbook 15- Generation 2 or Generation 3....mine is G3.

Is there any hardware difference? There is nothing to record G3 inside the machine I don't think

Would need the part number. Yes there is a difference. They are different chassis and really different laptops.
