Microsoft Windows 11

I have been using a laptop for almost two years. In the last six months, problems began with Type-C PD Port. After I connect the cable to the Type-C PD port, laptop starts charging, and after a few seconds the charge disappears and reappears. And so it constantly reconnects again and again. When the laptop is turned off or fully charged, reconnection does not occur, it receives voltage stably.

I have already tried on different power supplies and with different cables. Always the same thing.
It is very inconvenient, because you always have to carry the original DC in.

All the latest updates are present.

Hi @Ruslan87,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've done some troubleshooting already, which is great. Since you've tried different power supplies and cables without success, it's possible that the issue lies with the Type-C PD port itself or with the laptop's internal hardware.

Here are a few more steps you can try.

  • Check for physical damage: Inspect the Type-C port on your laptop for any signs of physical damage, such as bent pins or debris inside the port.
  • Update drivers and firmware: Ensure that your laptop's drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues or bugs that cause charging problems.
  • Reset power settings: Try resetting your laptop's power settings to default. Sometimes, changes in power settings can cause charging issues.
  • Run hardware diagnostics: Many laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware problems. Check if your laptop has any diagnostic tools and run them to see if they detect any issues with the Type-C port or charging system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
