OK. I looked at all the videos and all the how to onhow to remove the service panel.  Remove the  battery and then unscrew the two screws that willl not remove because they are spring load.

Mine only has one screw. I unscrew  it. I down't want to breakthe panel but yet it seem I'm the only onein the world that has a Pavilion g6 with a lousy one screw access panel that won't come off unless I break it.  Please send link to a one screw service panel how to. Because I'm screwed.

The imprint on the service panel says "protectsmart" on it. 😞

I found it for a a different model but not for the Pavilion g6. I looked  for special screws under the battery but none were found.

Do I have to rip and tear this thing apart just to change a lousy DVD player???how to open hp pavilion g6 laptopNocanOpenHP.jpg
