acpi\hpq0004\2&daba3ff&1 Windows cannot locate a driver for this device.

The above path is showing up as "Unknown Device" ever since upgrading to Windows 10.

INFORMATION IN DEVICE MANAGER:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.

Can anyone confirm for me what this device is?

Any suggestions?

Hi:

You need this driver for that device...

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_125640_1

HP 3D DriveGuard receives notifications from the integrated accelerometer and protects the hard drive (HDD) by automatically "parking the heads" to reduce the risk of damage if the notebook in case it is dropped or bumped.

Thank you, Paul.

Took your advice, attempted to install this driver.

"The HP 3D DriveGuard driver cannot install, the Accelerometer hardware is not present or supported on this unit. (Click OK to exit)."

Guess it is not supported for Windows 10. Yikes! I suppose now I wait to see if they update it.

You're very welcome.

Try manually installing the driver as follows.

Go to the device manager and click on the unknown 0004 device needing drivers.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp64144.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.
