It used to be that if the fan was running on high, I'd just close a few apps and it would immediately slow down, and be almost inaudible.
Now the fan is always on (and the air coming out is pretty warm) even when no apps are open, and the room is 62 degrees.
I've done all the standard things:
- Upgraded the BIOS
- Cleaned all the vents
- Turned off indexing
- Turned off many other features
- Turned Coolsense off and on
Do I just have to live with the extra noise?

I went to this page:
https://www.wintips.org/how-to-fix-svchost-exe-netsvcs-memory-leak-or-high-cpu-usage-problems
Ended and disabled the windows update and a few other things, and now CPU usage has dropped from 20% to about 2%.
I'm not sure exactly which thing solved it, but the fan is nice and quiet now.
