Hello,
is it somehow possible to upgrade the WLAN of my 8770w LY560EA to 802.11ac?
As far as i read there shouldn't be a problem with the whitelist, because it's an IvyBridge, correct?
But which WLAN-Card would work?
Thank you very much in advance and with best regards,
Marc

You can upgrade your workstation to an Intel network adapter that uses 802.11ac.
One that would work is the Intel Networkcontroller AC3160.
The downside of that adapter is that you would lose the WI-DI feature. No more streaming to a Smart HDTV. Personally,I would not want to lose that feature. 802.11ac is not as wonderful as you think it is. It has limitations. 802.11ac does not punch through walls as easily as 802.11g and 802.11n do.
Since your workstation is a 2012 model, it has no whitelist present in the BIOS to prevent upgrades.
A candidate wifi adapter that will be compatible compatible with your workstation has to have a mini PCIe interface.
There are no M.2 wifi adapters that are compatible with your workstation, since there is no M.2 slot on your workstation's systemboard.
