Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello dear

My laptop model is HP Pavilion 15-cc624tx. My device has 1 Tb HDD. My pc is extremely slow. It takes 1 minute to open desktop. Sometimes programs are crushing and taking times to open. Could you tell me what should I do  for smooth performance? I want to install 250gb SSD for better performance. Do I have extra slot for SSD card? If I want to add a SSD card do I have to remove my current HDD?

Hi,

You can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD from your preferred brand and capacity. It will give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC.

On page 44 of the service manual you can see the steps to install the M2 drive

It is always a good idea to check if the physical slot is present on the motherboard, as sometimes missing in notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD. On page 37 of the service manual, you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover.

You will need to reinstall or transfer the OS to the SSD.

Hope it helps,

David
