The fan speed difference stays regardless if it's idle or at full potential, should I worry or not?
Fan 1: -/+2000
Fan 2: -/+ 265
Model: Omen 17 w112ng

Hi! @Yendorion, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand that you get different fan speeds on your laptop.
Don't worry I'd like to help.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
According to the specification, there are two fans on this laptop.
One is a CPU fan and another one is graphics card fan.
Since CPU fan turns on as soon as your laptop power on or if there is more number of processes running at the time the CPU fan usage will be high.
However, The graphics fan will be enabled only when your running some high-end graphical content on your laptop, So the fan usage will be low.
You can reduce the CPU fan usage by disabling few processes from the task manager.
Also, Try updating BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
Refer this article to troubleshoot Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly issues.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Thank you very much for your reply.
This is still a new laptop, barely a month old & it wasn't even opened once since I got it but it did get a BIOS update.
I'm going with either the assumption that the Fan operate seperately rather than in sync on the heatsinks, that Fan 2 is solely assigned to the GPU as Fan 1 is solely assigned with the CPU. which mean that if the CPU do tend to rise - sometimes spiking thorugh the 90celcius threshold in full activity, the GPU stay really cool in comparison - highest in the mid 70celcius or that the sensor/speedfan reader is not enterily correct, I never tend to fully trust them anyways & hence why I felt compelled to ask here as a preventive measure just in case.
Regards.
