HP Elitebook 850 G3 Notebook P
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Virtualization VTx and VTd is not working/supported in my HP ELiteBook 850 G3 (Skylake ) Notebook PC.

I have enabled VTd and VTx in BIOS and also Disabled Hyper-V from Windows Control panel, still the Virtualization is not working. Due to this reason not able to use Oracle VM Box in my windows 10 Laptop which was required for me launch the VM (Virtual Machine).

The BIOS version i have in my laptop is N75 ver 01.13

Can ypu please tell me if this is a known issue? Is the Virtualization is supported in HP 850 G3 laptop? How can i make it work.

Appreciate your help...

Hi ,

I appreciate you for performing the troubleshooting steps.

In this case , Could you try the below steps and share me the updates

Step1 :

I would you reqest you to perform the BIOS defaults once and check if it works

Boot into the unit BIOS >> MAIN >> Apply factory defaults and exit

Step 2 :

BIOS >> Advanced >> System Option  >> PCI GEN support is set to " gen 3 "

Step 3 :

If possible I would request you to reinstall the OS installed in the unit with the Hp recovery media

OR

Swap the unit HDD With the good know HDD which as the windows 10 installed in it and check

<This steps is to isolate the issue>

Please  share us the update after trying this steps .

Many thanks for your response to my query and trying to help me...!!! On resolution you will be definately honoured with Kudos and Appreciation, as it is very important for me to continue to use this Brand New Laptop for my work.

Tried Step #1 --> No change in the behaviour.

As per your recommended step#2: I don't  see the option of PCI GEN support is set to " gen 3 "  in my BIOS under "BIOS >> Advanced >> System Option " . See below the snap shot of my BIOS menu options under "System Options"

Regrading installing OS, it is brand new laptop with OS installed. I can't change the OS. I am a corporate employee and OS is installed and maintained well. Since the BIOS is not taking effect, it will not be Win10(64bit) OS issue, i suspect it may be BIOS Settings/configuration/Bug issue.
