I have a STOCK p7-1225 with a Stock AMD A8 3820 Processor. It say GHz speeds of between 2.5 and 2.8. I Get the 2.5GHz. I Want Something Faster. Something 3.5-4GHZ. The Faster the Better. I would Like and Prefer to spend LESS Than $100.
I was thinking the AMD FX 4-Core Black Edition FX-4300, FD4300WMHKBOX ($65 from Amazon) . I plan on Upgrading the Stock Power Supply also so I can step up to a Nivida 780GTX ti.
Now I have been told and have seen sites, saying this Stock Chip (A8 3820) is a Darn Good Processor. That it Out does a Intel Core i7-3820 with a 5.6 compared to the AMD's 7.4 out of 10 in performance. I don't see how as the Intel comes in at 3.6GHZ vs 2.8GHz.
Processor must NOT Come from E-Bay! I will NOT Use E-Bay.

Hi,
As you can see the Processors supported by your motherboard are not many and the one provided will not increase performance by much. If you are using the pc for games upgrading graphics card and power supply will have greatest effect.

If you use PC for work and everyday multimedia experience upgrading to SSD will greatly improve performance even if Sata II will tend to bottleneck the SSD.
For a bit more than a hundred dollars you can also get new motherboard and processor which will be faster tan the one you have now.
Hope it helps,
David
