Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'd like to add a 2nd hard drive, but while there is an empty bay, there is no cabling.  My questions:

  1. What are the part number(s) for required cabling?
  2. Are there any other parts needed such as clamps, cages, etc.?
  3. Where can I get these parts?
  4. Is there anything else I need to know about bringing up the HD once it's installed?

I plan on using the extra drive for extra storage; I will not be booting from it.

Here is the cable you need:

The dv7-6000 series was supposed to be delivered with the hard drive caddy but no cable or screws. If you do not have the caddy (also called sled or cage) then you will have to find one of those too

You are doing this right. A hard drive in the secondary bay cannot be bootable but makes an excellent place for added storage capacity.
