What is part number of RJ-45 jack cover on a m6-p114dx? It is a tiny piece that holds the ethernet cable in the rj-45 jack,. It fell off, was lost and now an eithernet cable won't stay in the jack. Why would anyone think that a 45-RJ needs a removeable cover? It doesn't make any sense.

This is likely the RJ45 Door:
- Select a Country and then enter your device Product Number in the Quick Search box.
- To see a system-specific list, enter your Serial Number in place of the Product Number.
- Items accompanied by a tiny box in the Add-to-Cart column are available for purchase.
Example - your system:

Hi Dragon-Fur, Thanks very much for your help. There are so many messages on this forum probably you will be the only that see this message. Maybe it should be subdivided into specific notebooks. Anyway thanks again!. Regards, Bill

You are welcome, Bill.
Yes, there are thousands of Threads and their accompanying posts - and the numbers of new Threads and posts added each day is staggering. The HP Support Forum is truly a multi-national, world-wide effort.
There has been a recent reshuffle of the Categories within the forum -- depending on whom you ask, the results are either better than before, or "oh, it is so much more confusing".
You might be on to something: Assuming the Poster does provide the correct Product Number for the device (ie., computer model info), then an algorithm could be written to provide a guideline to help select the category best suited for the Thread.
When you mark a Post as having provided the Solution to your inquiry, it helps those who are seeking solutions for the same (or a similar) issue. Marking the author's Post as the solution jumps the "Solved" Thread (collection of Posts on a given subject) to the top of the pile. Kudos are nice, too, although we don't make a habit of whining about them -- a simple "Thank you" does indeed go a long way. Smiling. As you can imagine, the "top of the pile" changes quickly as solutions are added.
Season's Best to You.

I have accepted your first reply as solution and I "liked" that post. I already have the part. Stackoverflow.com has an obvious way to see the number of likes for a solution so you can easily see what is the most liked solution. Thanks again!
