Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about neediong RAM for your DV6 and wanted to help.
According to the Maintenance and Service Guide for your PC it uses SODIMM PC2-6400 800MHZ DDR2 memory modules.
If you want to confirm that on your PC, then I suggest you download and run CPU-Z from here: CPUID
