Hi, I am planning to upgrade my laptop's HDD to a SSD because SSD's are seeming to be faster. I don't actually know what size SSD I must get for my laptop. Anyone in the forums please help me.. 🙂

Regards

Pavan

Your maintenance manual as well as most models use a 2.5" wide Mobile hdd. Thickness can be either 7mm or 9.5mm.

Normally the best place to start is the Maintenance & Service Guide. It shows the smallest capacity used is a 500gb hdd. If you plan to use HP Recovery Media to install Windows that would be the smallest I would attempt. If you will be using Windows 10 media you would of course have more flexibilty. Or-if you will be cloning the original hdd to new ssd you could use a somewhat smaller capacity than what you have now.

Btw-your model, like many new ones, is tricky to replace hdd. Maintenance Guide covers that as well.
