I am new to HP so am bit confused regarding product numbers. I purchased HP Envy 17 (and am told the the produce number is X0S43UA) at Costco and it comes with one Hard Drive. I am looking to add a second hard drive. Doing a quick search for caddy and cable combo i saw one on amazon but that noted only worked with J series and that with the X series and the harddrive could only be added via the media drive bay. I dug a little deeper and was reading that all HP 17 Envy have space bay for second hard drive...I just need to confirm that and what caddy/cable combination will work and that the envy all have two HD bays. thank you in advance for any clarification

Hi,
Your machine is an HP ENVY - 17-s143cl :
http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05301038
There is no provision for dual storage for the series of your machine. Please use other option if you wish: replacing the ODD(CD/DVD drive) with a caddy as shown:
2nd HDD / SSD Caddy for HP Envy 17 - s000, 17t-s000 Series Add a Second Hard Drive or SSD to your HP Envy 17-s000, 17t-s000 series laptop using your laptop's optical drive bay. Add it as a second... |
Regards.
