Got a dv7-6c95dx - battery will not seat in very well-----Latch doesn't have any spring back to hold battery in and latch moves very hard. Saw an article on repair and replacement but cant find it now---- HowTo find a spring?----

Thank you for your query. I grasp that the battery is not seating well, the latch does not have any spring action and the latch is hard to move.  You saw an article on repair and replacement but are unable to locate it now. You are unsure of how to get a replacement spring.

 

Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. After reviewing the guide, the battery latch is part of the base enclosure. Please see chapter 3, page 37. Chapter 4 is removal and replacement procedures. Chapter 4, page 47 has the procedure for removing and replacing the battery.  For your convenience, I am including a link to the HP Parts Store.
