can i upgrade intel wifi adapter. for Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 802.11ac to Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265,

I think I already said yes....but not sure what an "upper and lower wifi card" is??? 

 

But to answer your main question I would not have given you the ebay link if you could not install that card in your laptop. 

 

So again, yes you can install the 8265 card. I was trying to also say you can install an 8260 card and it might not take so long to get it.

Yes there is not a whitelist issue preventing the upgrade. See p. 38 of the Manual here:

The only 8265 cards I could find online ship from China.

Found quite a few 8260s that ship from US.

I purchased a HP laptop 15-db0005dx touchscreen in 2019 and now find it is not compatible with a 5G band from our router. Reading online I learned that it does not have 802.11a to access the 5G on our router.  We discovered this when we received a wifi extender and it would only extend the 2.4 band.  I cannot extend the 5G band until I can have the 5G available on my laptop.  Can you help?  Thanks!
