Elitebook 755 g3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello, I have a SSD installed on my Elitebook 755 g3 and I would like to upgrade it installing a HDD for photos and movies (while keeping all the programs on the ssd).
Problem is, I can't figure out what kind of HDD I can install on the notebook. 7mm or 9,5 mm? I think 7mm since the notebook is very slim, but I wasn't able to find anything on the specs.

You're welcome, mate! 🙂

No, a 9.5mm drive won't fit in a smaller bay. You can fit a 7.0mm in a 9.5 bay, but the other way around is not possible.

Hi @shake92!

As you can see from this product manual you'll be OK with a 7.0mm HDD:

On page 40 you can find the detailed steps on how to replace the drive yourself.

Hope this helps and best of luck! 🙂

Thank you very much! Since the only hard drives noted in the manuals are 7 mm, I imagine a 9,5 mm HDD would not fit in the slot right?

Hello again, so I bought a 7mm 1tb HDD drive. Now in order to install it I figured out I need some sort of retainer... in fact I believe I need to screw the HDD in position so it does not move out of position. Do I need a retainer (I keep calling it a retainer but I don't know what it is)? And if I do need one, where can I find it? Thank you very much for the help

ps it is a WD 7mm 1TB HDD (WD Blue)

Actually, reading the manual I found out the name of the retainer: it's a mylar cover. However, where can I find it? I can't find it on Amazon or ebay. I found one for an Acer Pc and it was something like 88$.... can I replace it with something else?
