Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Laptops are designed to automatically throttle back when using battery power, and when that happens, the processor runs cooler and the fan is not needed as often.  This is by design.

You can go into Control Panel --> Power Options and select a power plan that will speed up your processor.  When that happens, the fan will start spinning again.

Good Luck

Hi,

I am using EliteBook8470p. The battery usually lasted for 6-8 hours. However, after upgrading to Windows 10, the batter show: "Battery 1: this battery is not available for use" and the laptop can last for only 2-3 hours without charger
