There is too much confusing info on eBay...they show too many part numbers on each listing that I saw.

Here is the link to the item on amazon...

Hi:

There are no system boards that support 32 GB of memory in the entire dv6 model series.

There is no such animal. That laptop was made at a time before anybody thought of 32 gigs and uses a chipset that cannot support 32 gigs. You are going to have to buy a newer laptop.

Hi:

The only system boards that support 16 GB of memory for the dv6-3xxx are those for the quad core processors.

Your notebook comes with a dual core processor, so that will not work.

You need a quad core processor, and a quad core motherboard in order for 16 GB of memory to work...One of those listed in chapter 3 of the service manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02657339

And that is unofficial info because all of the specs state 8 GB is the max, but you can install 16 GB with a first generation quad core processor.  Several other forum members have reported 16 GB works.

The part number you posted...615281-001 will not support 16 GB of memory.

You need:

615278-001 --  ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, 1024-MB dedicated memory, and a quadcore processor,  like the Intel Core i7-840QM.

You may as well go big.

is this okay do they compatible with each others ??

The motherboard and processor should be fine, but not the memory.

Memory must be 1333 MHz max, low density, 1.5V or it will not work.
