Hello forum could use some advice. My laptop is an( HP Pavillion dv7 notebook product # XH108UAR#ABA )it currently has two (2GB 2Rx8 PC3 10600s -09-10-F2) memory modules installed in it. Can they be upgraded and replaced with the following memory modules:
Kingston ValueRAM 4GB Notebook Memory Module - DDR3, 1333MHz, PC3-10600, SODIMM, CL 9, 204 Pin, 1.5V - KVR13S9S8/4
If so; will this make a significant difference when it comes to operating speed and the ability to play some of the newer games that require more memory to play. If this is not the correct memory to upgrade my laptop with what do i need & how much memory can i add to my system. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
The maximum supported are 8 GB (2x4) DDR3 SODIMM.
Manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02642701
Supports up to 8 GB of system RAM in the following configurations
● 8192-MB total system memory (4096-MB × 2, dual-channel)
● 6144-MB total system memory (4096-MB × 1 + 2048-MB × 1)
● 4096-MB total system memory (2048-MB × 2, dual-channel)
● 4096-MB total system memory (4096-MB × 1)
The problem of the KVR modules is that sometimes do not work, if you are in the United States, one of the most interesting options is Crucial 1.35v - 1.5v Dual-Voltage DDR3 memory

Carlos thanks brother for getting back to me as quick as you did. Checked out the site you mentioned Crucial.com that works for me and the price was ok. Carlos if you can answer one other question brother i would appreciate it. If I upgrade the memory to 8 gigs like i plan on doing will there be a noticable difference in speed, perfomance and the ability to play some of the newer games that like to suck up all your memory or would I be wasting some time and a few dollares with the system i have? Once again thanks Carlos I appreciate the info & the manuel!

Adding memory improves multitasking, ie several programs to load into RAM at the same time without the laptop is put slow by having to resort to virtual memory that is simply a portion of the hard disk reserved for this purpose.
As for the game could improve performance if you only need more RAM but there are other influencing factors such as processor and video chip.
