Hey Guys,
I have a similar problem with the HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking Station (Product: D9Y32AA Rev V1.00) with the Elitebook 840 G1 (latest BIOS and driver) - connected over HP Display Port Adapter to DVI and sound cable (3,5mm audio jack) The result is that we get teriible noise / swoosh from the internal display speaker.
P.S. This post has been split off from other thread. - HP Forum Moderator

Your first response is update the bios and all the drivers? Atleast try to trouble shoot before trying to farm your precious 'kudo stars'
As a pc tech, your reply makes my brain hurt...
The issue is apparent on many of the docks. We have 7 here and 3 of the 7 produce this static sound when plugged into the docking station. Firmware, drivers, bios flashes will not solve this. It is simply due to the connectors in the dock not being shielded properly. We fixed all of ours by opening them up (voiding the warranty) and rewiring the audio jacks with acceptable wiring.
HP is known for their cheaply made components, this is a prime example.
