Hello i am writing to enquire about upgrading my laptop ram. I am currently using the standard ram of 4 gb provided to me along with my laptop. But now I want to have more memory. My processor is a core i5-2430 cpu @ 2.40 GHz.  I want to know as to how much and of what speed of  ram can I install on my pc.  my product serial no. is SCH1321APY and prodcut no. is QG477PA#ACJ

Yes. Exactly. You can install 1600 mhz but it runs at 1333 so you might as well get the correct memory. 1600 may downclock but safer to buy the specified memory.

Here is the Service Manual:

You can actually have up to 16 gigs of RAM or 2 x 8 gig modules. 

 

See p. 66 for "how to". 

 

You need 2 of these modules or equivalent:

 

8-GB (DDR3, 10600, 1333-MHz) 634091-001

so does that means i cannot use 1600 mhz ram on my laptop and only 1333 mhz ram ? please reply.
