Hi,

If hard drive has failed, you've to replace the hard drive with a new one of similar form factor

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03489413

2.5 inch SATA hard drive

Use HP recovery media to factory reset after replacement of HDD

Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03694820

Your laptop came with Windows 8 64 bit. So you could alternatively clean install Windows 8.1 64 bit after replacement of HDD, by creating UEFI bootable installation USB using Microsoft windows media creation tool:

Windows will be automatically activated after installation while connected to internet

Additional drivers from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-m6-1100-notebook-pc-series/5296045

Don't have the product key. And also It seems  too complicated for me.
Do you have any idea how much the repairman will charge to fix this?

Windows 8 key is embedded in the BIOS chip of board.

Just follow the tutorial slowly.
