Hi,
Yeah, I know what you mean about accessing the battery
If it's possible to connect the power board to the system board when it has been removed, just do that and hold down the power button - otherwise, just leave the rtc out for a few hours just to make sure.

Stripped out the motherboard etc. then removed the RTC battery and left out for an hour, replaced the battery with a new one and then reassembled everything.
Turned the laptop on and as expected it came up with the message that the bios had been reset to defaults, ie no password 😊
