Hey @Wetz, welcome to the HP Forums!

I'd like to help you with your 15-1010dx. I understand from your description that you see an error indicating the Boot Device is not Found and the short DST failed. Please use the following document to troubleshoot the issue and let me know the outcome of your efforts:

HP Notebook PCs - Boot Device Not Found Error or Hard Drive Not Detected.

If this helps you to resolve the issue, please be sure to mark your post as solved by clicking the Accept as Solution button below.

Hi Wetz... I'm sorry you're having a problem with your system.  This error would indicate that your hard drive needs to be replaced.

What this is indicating is that the hard drive's internal SMART controller Drive Self Test (DST) has reported an error.  While it might be limited to the portion of the drive containing the operating system boot code, it might be a systemic failure.  The SMART check only attempts to make a prediction of failure; it watches for the drive to report errors, and when the number and type of errors pass a certain threshold it will then report an error.  In both cases, HP PC Hardware Diagnostics simly instructs the drive to perform the appropriate check /test, and reports on the results.

I hope this helps.  Please reply back here with the results of your troubleshooting and repair!
