Reinstalled Windows 10 on this notebook PC shortly after purchase (clean install to remove all the bloat) and
HP DriveGuard and Coolsense software will not install. After downloading DriveGuard and attempting to run the installer nothing happens, then I go to the Programs list and see it there but it is grayed out. Tried the latest version 6.0.28.1 Rev.A. When trying to install Coolsense I get an error message that the .net framework software needs to be installed but it is already a part of Windows 10.
Any ideas what may be going on?
Thank you!

Hi,
CoolSense requires .NET Framework 3.5 which may not be present on a clean install of Windows 10 - you can check this as follows.
Hold down the Windows key and press R.
Into the Run box type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
In the left hand pane, select 'Turn Windows features on or off' and let the list populate.
If .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) option isn't selected, add a checkmark and then click Ok.
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook, let Windows fully load for a few minutes, then try running the CoolSense installer again.
As far as HP 3D DriveGuard is concerned, you could try the following.
Hold down the Windows key and press R.
Into the Run box type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
Right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When done, download and reinstall the Chipset driver below.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72862.exe
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp67001-67500/sp67280.exe
Again, when this has completed, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

Thank you for your help! Your instructions worked great. I had installed the chipset driver prior to trying to install DriveGuard but the version on the support website was different than the one you provided. The most current version they list is 6.0.28.1 Rev.A which does not seem to work.
Thanks again for your help!
