Ive tried doing the battery check in the components test and it gives me "Primary - Replace 42" failure id: QAH044-7L8860-MFGJMF-C0BX03". But if i run it without the charger it gives me Calibration required. But i cant calibrate cause i need the power adapter. But if i run the battery check without the adapter then i insert the adapter i can run the battery calibration however it says "automated battery callibration is nit supported on this system. Ill give more info, while it is off, the color next to the ac adapter is orange, but immediately when i power it on like just pressed the power button it turn into white. It turns white the moment the fans turn on. I dont know what else im supposed to do. And i dont have any viruses or anything, ive just scanned my laptop.

Hi @Michael51,

Sound like you have a bad battery.

If it does not and in warranty, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.

I had the same issue, and fixed it this morning. Look at the first reply to the question below, the reply from user KNRK.
