Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The last three downloads of Win 10 updates were very slow, like > 6 hours, and then the installation is unsuccessful due to a problem, error code Ox800705b4. Can anyone enlighten me please? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

 

This is a Windows Update error

 

Please run the  > Windows Update troubleshooter <  and see if it fixes the issue:
1. Click on the Start button

2. begin typing  troubleshoot

and press the ENTER key.
3. Click View All.
4. Click Windows Update, Advanced in the next window and Next.
5. Click Advanced, then Run as an Administrator, check the box before Apply repairs automatically and click Next.
6. Click the Close button to finish troubleshooting or View detailed information to see more information about the results.

 

Provide details of anything not fixed.

 

 

- You may also want to check if your clock/timezone is correct

- You can also try to *restart* your computer.

- You can try to manually reset Windows Update components as explained here >> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058

- You can try to uninstall (at least temporary) any 3rd party security programs (antivirus, firewall, etc...) such as McAfee, Norton, Trend, etc.....

For reason unknown the gremlins must have got in when I turned my back because all updates had been installed while I was doing something else, but thanks anyway.
