My laptop screen goes black and does not show me anything. If I flash a flashlight, I could see the screen but very dim.
I connected my notebook to VGA cable for the projector yesterday. The notebook shutdown due to low battery while on the projection mode. Then I recharged the laptop and started but since then I am facing black screen problem. I think this is a backlight or inverter problem. Please help.
Tried but failed:
- Bios recovery (Windows + B before power)
- Graphics driver updates
I am also looking for if there is any HP customer care center near Lawrence, KS, 66047.

Forgive me for stating the obvious but you said this happened while in "projector mode". You didn't specifically mention that you tried using the Function keys to switch back from external monitor or projector mode.
Switch between displays using the function keys
"When multiple displays are in use, press the fn and f4 function keys at the same time to switch the image from the notebook display, to the external monitor, or to both. This key combination might be different on your computer."
