HP 15 TS Notebook PC r254dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Community:

Before I spend the money for an external monitor for my Notebook (TS 15 r254dx), does anyone know if the PC will still run the external monitor when closed?  I just have the HDMI port, no docking station.  I'm going to assume I can use it in expanded display mode, though that is not directly addressed anywhere I can find either.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Hi,

You can choose default action to Do nothing in Lid close option in battery and plugged in states:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/69762-lid-close-default-action-change-windows-10-a.html

Then project to external monitor:

I cannot test until I actually buy a monitor, but I followed the links Dean provided and the information and options were exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks!
