Dual 4K monitor with the Elitebook 840 G3

Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to use two 4K monitors with the HP Elitebook 840 G3 (via the Ultraslim docking station)?

All I can find is that maximum resolution is 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and that 3 independent displays is supported with the HP Ultraslim Docking Station.

Does this mean I can run 3 monitors at 4K resolution at once?

No.  I'm in currently in the same situation.  I have 2 4K monitors.  Though the docking station powers them on, it only allows 1 to be at 4K (2560x1440) 4K, but even after upgrading dockinstation, display cards and monitor drivers for Window 10, it sees the Dell monitor as a Dell, but it only allows a max resolution of HD (1920x1080).  

After calling HP support and verifying I had done the above.  They finall told me "Oh, the Slim Docking Station can only run with 1 monitor in 4K mode at a time.

Would be nice for them to state that somewhere.

Yes, I got this answer from HP: "The dock itself can support 2x 3840x2160@30Hz  as it is HW limitation of inside DisplayLink chip."

This means you can run two monitors in 4K@30Hz or one monitor in 4K@60Hz. Though 30 Hz is not ideal. Hopefully they will release a dockingstation that will support dual 4K@60Hz.
