Some of my function keys seem to be shifted to the right.
e.g. f7, which should turn down volume, mutes volume as f6 should. f9 turns up volume instead of rewinding, etc.
However, esc and f1-f5 seem to work, and everything from prt sc on works. f12, which should put the computer into airplane mode, does wierd things (brings me to save as in powerpoint, brings up computer code in chrome, does nothing on the desktop).

Hello @Linguist3,
Appreciate your efforts!
I would suggest you try a system restore on your PC since this looks like some recent software changes caused this issue. System Restore automatically creates restore points, a memory of the system files and settings on the computer at a particular point in time. System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.
You can get the instructions here: http://hp.care/2c1kggM
Hope that helps. Let me know!
Cheers 🙂

Hello @Linguist3 – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out! I’d like to help!
I see that you are having issues with the notebook keyboard. Let’s start to diagnose the issue by updating the notebook drivers. Try the steps below to update the keyboard drivers:
- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- Click View and select Show Hidden Devices.
- Click the arrow next to Keyboards, right-click the keyboard device name, then select Uninstall to remove the device from Windows.
- Continue removing device names in the Keyboards category until all device names have been uninstalled.
- Restart the notebook and check.
Also, check http://hp.care/2eAwv2U more detailed troubleshooting steps.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Cheers & Wish you a very happy new year 🙂

Hello @Linguist3
Thanks for the update.
When you uninstall the keyboard from the device manager, it will not go off completely. Once you restart the computer, the keyboard will be installed automatically.
So please proceed ahead as explained in my above post.
Let me know how that goes! Good luck 🙂
