HP Envy 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Strangely my wife's PC doesn't have a sticker showing the model/serial number so all I know is that it's an HP Envy 17. Only PC I've ever seen like that but that's not the problem.

The instructions for cleaning the touchscreen say to turn the PC off & then clean the screen. The problem is that with the PC off we can't see where the dust, hair, and fingerprints are. We clean all of our other screens while they're on so the cleaning doesn't cause a problem, it's the touching. Can we turn off the driver so the screen doesn't respond to touch?

Thanks.

If  you're just using a dry microfibre cloth, no issues wiping down the screen with the laptop on.  Just open an application that is mostly blank like Notepad.  This way the touches don't open anything.

Hi,

I rather clean the LCD with the laptop turned OFF. Or use a flourescent light (Blue) to check where to clean..
