Omen 15-ax0014na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Xmas gift purchased in Nov.

Keyboard lights do not work at all.  Never have done since purchase.

Hotkey combination does nothing at all.
Tried all support recommendations, still not working.
Updated all drivers, etc. Still not working.
Downloaded HP Omen Control - Still not working.
There are a lot of forum references to this being a software or BIOS issue, but have never updated BIOS.

Please advise.

Hello, @Steveola – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.

I see that you are having issues while using the keyboard backlight. Did you try pressing the F5 key? If not, restart your computer and then press the F5 to turn on the keyboard backlight.

Also, run the HP Support Assistant and see if there are any BIOS updates available. If any, please update the BIOS, restart the computer and then press the F5 key.

That should do the trick, let me know the outcome.

Good luck & Wish you a very happy new year 🙂

Thanks for the advice, really weird.... I turned on the laptopthis morning went to make a coffee and came back to a working machine!

F5 now activates the backlight whereas yesterday it didn't.

I can only assume an update downloaded and installed while I wasn't watching.

Thanks for the response, really do appreciate the prompt reply.

All the best.
