My webcam is showing a pink haze around my picture. I've run all the updates, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. Is this a side effect of the infrared capability, or is something wrong with my camera?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

 

I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 laptop and its webcam is showing a pink haze around the picture. You have performed the updates and issue still persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. Not to worry though as I have a few suggestions.

 

Before we come to a conclusion, I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • When was the last time the webcam worked fine and captured images and videos correctly?
  • Does the pink haze appear only after capturing the image or even before you capture an image, you can see it on the screen?
  • Have yo tried to use multiple applications for the webcam like Skype, HP Youcam software, muvee autoProducer 6, etc?
  • Any updates that happened for the webcam recently?

Meanwhile, please follow the steps from the below links:

  • Also, you may test the webcam using the following steps:

To take a picture, perform the following steps from this link: Testing a Webcam Using YouCam (Windows 10, 8, 7)

  • Click the camera icon  on the toolbar.

  • Click the shutter button  to take the picture.

  • To view the picture, click the thumbnail image in the bottom panel.

  • To delete the picture, right-click the thumbnail image in the bottom panel and select Delete Selected Media.
