HP 2000-2a20CA Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 2000-2a20CA Notebook PC

Product No. B5R61UA

It seems upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10 Home edition, that when either Browsing or using a Microsoft Office program, windows explorer, etc.

When moving the cursor with the touch pad and then tapping to select a link, function etc. anywhere on the screen/page.

The screen will either shrink in size to the left or right side of screen or reduce to the task bar.

Any clues, is it Win 10 or touchpad problem.

Thanks,

I think I've solved the problem for now I think.

When checking the HP site looking for any updates for Win 10 and none was found.

But then I changed my Windows version to Win 8 then rechecked updates and there's an update for the touchpad dated March 2016.

Downloaded and installed, and all seems OK so far.

thanks again.

Hi @happypouch,

Thank you for your query.

I grasp that after upgrading to Windows 10 that when moving the cursor with the touchpad, tapping to select a link results in either the screen shrinking in size to the left or right or minimizing to the task bar.

When I checked the software and driver page for your notebook, there are no updated drivers listed. This tells us that HP has not tested Windows 10 on this model and the outcome is unknown.

HP does not guarantee that drivers will be available through Windows updates. Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10 that may  help. Have you done all your Windows updates?  Have you tried running the Windows troubleshooter? Here is a link to the  Windows Update Troubleshooter. Open the Windows update troubleshooter as it may help find additional drivers. It should lead to a forced update of Windows that may not be automatically applied, that could help resolve this issue.  Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10) as a guide to some steps to try.

Please let me know the results.
